Maldives (Soneva Fushi)
Annual visit back to Paradise on Earth for our beach-loving family. This time to celebrate Leia & Lauren's 2nd birthday too!
Used to be a resort chain under the Six Senses group, we picked Soneva Fushi for its beautiful location in the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. It has the exact same design concept with Six Senses too! Having stayed in water villas for our previous maldives trips, a beach villa stay was a good change as the girls were able to have some sandplay on the beach. Soneva is perfect for this! The resort is made of massive, Robinson Crusoe-style luxury bedroom villas that are hidden among dense tropical foliage with a private beach area facing the Indian Ocean, offering the privacy that we were looking for. Our Soneva Fushi Family Villa Suite came with a private seawater swimming pool, kitchenette, open plan living room, a separate kids room, observation deck, a large outdoor garden shower and a personal butler, perfect for a getaway with kids.
The Soneva intelligent luxury philosophy SLOW LIFE (Sustainable-Local-Organic-Wellness-Learning-Inspiring-Fun-Experiences) explains it all! 70% of the veggies that we ate here are grown organically at their own farms on the island. They have always been an innovator in the field of responsible tourism, taking environmental responsibilities very seriously. Everything on this island is made of sustainable and recycled materials.
In my opinion, Soneva is one of the best resort for families with children. Just look at the Children's Den! It has two pools, a children's mocktail bar, lego room, dress-up room, cinema, library, activity area, nap room and a cold kitchen for cupcake decorating sessions. The outdoor area looks like a massive villa complete with an awesome water slide and child hammocks.
Special thanks to:
We whisked ourselves away to the magical island of Lofoten, where we explored the beautiful landscapes and took a step back from the city life to breathe in the fresh air of Norway.
